Take Back the Night
Throughout world history there are countless stories of women victimized while they were alone at night. This woman empowering rally began in Philadelphia, October 1975 after one such incident. It continues today across the United States on many college campuses as well as worldwide. Each year here at The Ohio State University, the student group Women and Allies Rising in Resistance (WARR), organizes our own Take Back the Night. With the hope to raise awareness and empower the community, this student group brings together students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Attendees of TBTN enjoy entertainment, speakers, live music, and access to many student organizations, services as well as community resources. The event includes an empowering march through the streets as well as men's services and a speak-out for survivors. Look for more information each Spring regarding OSU's WARR group and Take Back The Night here on campus.
