Condom Club

Watch the Condom Club video!*

Become a fan of the OSU Condom Club on Facebook for up-to-date information, what we have in stock, and fun facts!!!

All students of The Ohio State University are invited to join the Condom Club. With a free membership, students can purchase up to 5 "colors" of condoms per day for $5 (total of up to 40 condoms for $5)! Members can also get FREE latex oral dams, finger cots, latex gloves, and water or silicone-based lubricants (flavored and non-flavored lube are available).

How do I join?

  • Bring your Buck ID and any questions to the Student Wellness Center, Room B130 Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), 337 W. 17th Avenue, between the hours of 2:30-4:30pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and between the hours of 4:30-6:30pm on Tuesday and Thursday during the academic year. Demonstrations are available during regular office hours during finals week (9-5pm) and winter/spring/summer breaks (8-4pm).
  • Watch a short Condom Demonstration with the renowned "WOODY".
  • Receive a free membership card when you join. To purchase condoms, bring $5 (Buck ID only).
  • With $5 and the membership card, Condom Club members can purchase up to 40 condoms per day. If you want less than 40, you will receive one "punch-out" card, which can be "punched" with the number of "bags" obtained, and the member can come back later to get the rest. Each "color" contains 8 condoms, except for the polyisoprene (non-latex) condoms and one other brand. So, when purchasing most latex condoms, Condom Club members get 40 condoms for $5!
  • Please note that even if you plan on buying less than 40 condoms, you still need the $5 up front to buy the punch card!
  • Student Wellness accepts Buck ID only for the Condom Club.
  • If you will be joining the Condom Club with a large group of students (over 6 students), please phone ahead so we can accommodate your group.

**NOTE: Starting January 2, 2012, Condom Club will be "up to 40 for $5," due to the increase in pricing SWC has to pay for the products.

Why do I have to watch a condom demonstration?

At the Student Wellness Center, we are committed to enhancing the health and wellness of all OSU students through many different health promotion avenues, including education. We do not like to distribute safer sex materials without also providing health-enhancing education (the condom demonstration) and the opportunity for students to ask questions and receive other health promotion resources (brochures and other services available at Student Wellness Center).

Can I come in and pick up free condoms for my hall/floor/friends/house?

No, we cannot distribute free condoms. First, quite simply, we cannot afford it. If every sexually active student at OSU came in requesting free condoms, we would not be able to offer the Condom Club service. This is also why Condom Club members can only purchase and redeem one "punch-out" card per day. Secondly and more importantly, we do not like to distribute safer sex materials without also providing health-enhancing education (condom demonstration) and the opportunity for students to ask questions and receive other health promotion resources (brochures and other services available at Student Wellness Center). If you would like to provide condoms for your hall/floor/friends/house, join the Condom Club! You can then purchase up to 50 condoms per day to provide to whomever you wish. Or better yet, urge your friends/roommates to join with you, and they can purchase their own supplies of barriers!

What brands of condoms do you offer?

Brands change over time due to cost and availability, so for the most updated information, call the Student Wellness Center at 292-4527.

Would you like to volunteer to become trained to give condom demonstrations 1 hour a week?

For more information about the Condom Club, contact the Student Wellness Center by phone: 292-4527, or e-mail: kmiller@studentlife.osu.edu.

*Watching the Condom Club video online does not mean you will be a member of the Condom Club. Students still need to attend a demonstration in the Student Wellness Center (B130 RPAC). The video is meant for review and as a refresher of how to use various barrier methods. For more information, please contact the Student Wellness Center.
